Should I go to London, England, to teach or to overcome the crisis and try to work in Ontarioa I am Canadian and got my teaching degree in Australia in November 2009. I heard and met with the fact that there are very few jobs in Ontario (especially Ottawa and surrounding area) and there will be no openings for the next 3-5 years. Should I teach in London to experience and a guaranteed job or trying to get on the list of supplies and possibly obtain a contract or full-time joba I can not decide which would be more beneficial.
I have not heard anything good about teaching in England, or by Canadian friends who have, or the media. (Article published in today's TimesOnline: "British teachers on board, but who really caresa
The case of Peter Harvey, cleared of attempted murder, has refocused attention on the constraints faced by school staff at the national level ").
I have a friend who moved to Ontario a few years ago to marry. She volunteered at a school for a year to see its business and is committed to supply. After a year of teaching in supply, she obtained a permanent position (GTA).
I do not know why you limit yourself to these two options, though. Why not Australia or elsewhere in Canadaa
you ask the U.S. ... may have to scroll down and get answers from Canada or the United Kingdom.
Go to the place you want more to go, but if you know there will be no jobs in Ontario, I would say London.
